Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Mother Baby/Labor & Delivery position requiring MT or compact RN licensure, NRP, BLS, and STABLE certifications with at least 2 years of experience.

Details

• Full-time, 0.9 FTE Night Shift position in a Mother Baby/Labor & Delivery unit
• 13-week contract assignment
• Facility reserves the right to cancel up to three shifts per 13-week contract due to low census or unforeseen circumstances
• Must be able to catch/transition newborns and act as Charge Nurse when needed
• Must be willing to float to other departments as a safety companion
• L&D experience including antepartum, intrapartum, preop, circulate, and PACU preferred
• Schedule may require working beyond a standard workweek, including weekends and after-hours shifts
• On-call availability may be required

Requirements

• Active MT or compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Current STABLE certification required
• Current NRP certification required, with recertification every 2 years
• Competence and willingness to practice modified primary nursing
• Ability to work in a busy, high-stress clinical environment
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly and perform frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching

• Provide comprehensive, collaborative nursing care including assessment, diagnosis, planning, and implementation of individualized patient care plans
• Promote a safe environment and support quality, evidence-based nursing practice
• Participate in ongoing professional development and stroke competency education, including two hours of initial cerebrovascular disease training within one year of hire and one hour annually thereafter
• Work collaboratively with patients, families, and the healthcare team while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism
• Exposure to bloodborne pathogens, infectious diseases, radiation, and emotionally challenging patient situations should be expected
• Candidates must live at least 90 miles from the facility to be considered for this position
