Description

American Traveler is hiring a Travel RN for a Level III NICU night shift position requiring at least 1 year of recent acute care NICU experience and BLS/NRP certification.

Details

  • Work in a 24-bed Level III Neonatal ICU within a hospital setting
  • Care for critically ill neonates including 23-weekers requiring high-acuity interventions
  • Patient ratios range from 1:1 to 1:4 depending on acuity
  • Unit utilizes oscillators, ventilators, bubble CPAP, central lines, ABG machines, pump feeds, and telemedicine equipment
  • Uses Meditech EMR
  • Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
  • 13-week assignment length

Requirements

  • Active CO or Compact RN license required
  • BLS and NRP certifications required
  • Minimum 1 year of current acute care hospital NICU experience required
  • Level III or Level IV NICU experience required
  • Meditech EMR experience preferred
  • PICU experience preferred
  • PALS certification preferred
  • No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
  • US SSN and date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Perform procedures including circumcisions, pneumothorax taps, intubations, and assist with chest tubes and other Level III procedures
  • Administer PIVs, medications, and blood products, and perform blood draws from arterial, heel, and venous sites
  • Provide communication and handoffs to staff and providers
  • Observe patient transitions as the NICU attends all high-risk deliveries
  • No surgeries, nitric oxide therapy, or head/body cooling performed on this unit
  • Candidates should be friendly, approachable, and adaptable to the facility culture
  • Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for this position
