Description

American Traveler is hiring a Medical Surgical RN for a 13-week day shift assignment requiring Level I or II trauma experience and prior travel assignment history.

Requirements

• Active RN license (state-specific or NLC-compliant compact) required, no pending licensure accepted
• Minimum 2 years of recent Medical Surgical experience required, 3+ years preferred
• At least 1 year of charge nurse experience required
• At least 1 completed prior travel assignment required, first-time travelers not accepted
• Level I or Level II Trauma experience required
• Large hospital experience preferred
• ADN accepted for this position
• Certifications required: BLS and NIHSS; ACLS preferred
• Skills required: cardiac monitoring, emergency response, IV therapy/phlebotomy, and starting/maintaining IVs
• Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias preferred
• Epic and Cerner EMR experience preferred
• Driver's license copy required for consideration
• Vaccination status must be provided for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care in a Medical Surgical unit using a team nursing model with support from PCC and LPN staff
• Base patient ratio is 1:7, though ratios may be higher under the team nursing structure
• On-call and weekend shifts required as needed, with possible weekend block scheduling to be discussed during interview
• May float between like units and campuses within a 20-mile radius, though cross-campus floating is rare
• If Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's all fall within the assignment, must be willing to work 2 of the 3 holidays; if only 2 holidays fall within the assignment, must work at least 1
• Local candidates must reside at least 100 miles from the facility to be considered, strictly enforced
• Former permanent staff or travelers must be separated from the facility for at least one year before becoming eligible to return
• All requested time off must be submitted at the time of application, as RTO submitted after an offer is made will not be honored
