Description

American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for an Observation Unit position requiring an active RN license and BLS certification.

Details

• Work in a 32-bed Observation Unit affiliated with the Emergency Department for patients expected to stay less than 24 hours
• Patient population includes chest pain, cardiac arrhythmias, heart catheterizations, laparoscopic cholecystectomies, UTIs, and DVTs
• Provider on-site daily from 7a-5p
• Night shift schedule, 7p-7a, 12-hour shifts
• 36 hours per week over 3 days

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted RN license (IN or compact) required
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• ADN or ASN required, BSN preferred
• No prior experience required
• Proficiency in medication administration, wound care, IV therapy, and use of medical equipment
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and prioritization skills in a fast-paced environment
• Effective communication skills for collaborating with interdisciplinary teams and patients/families

Additional Information

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and document findings per scope of practice and hospital policy
• Facilitate admission, transfer, and discharge activities including discharge teaching and coordination with Case Management
• Develop and prioritize individualized patient care plans in collaboration with the interprofessional team
• Delegate and oversee tasks performed by other care team members
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement activities such as monitoring patient satisfaction, falls, pressure ulcers, and CAUTIs
• Provide patient and family-centered education tailored to cultural, age, and developmental considerations
• Promote a positive, healing environment through effective communication and teamwork
