Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Interventional Radiology RN for an acute care hospital position requiring a CA RN license, 1:1 patient ratios, and 1 year of IR experience.
Details
- beachside hospital setting within the Interventional Radiology department
- 1:1 patient ratio
- Day shift schedule (4x10 hours, 7:00 AM-5:30 PM)
- Every other weekend required
- On-call responsibilities required
- No floating between unlike units required
- Uses Epic EMR system
Requirements
- Active CA RN license required (must be in hand at time of submission)
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 1 year of Interventional Radiology experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Experience with procedural sedation administration and monitoring
- Experience with vascular studies and procedures including central venous access, dialysis graft interventions, endovascular interventions, and stent graft placement
- Experience with pulmonary procedures including chest tube placement, lung biopsy, and thoracentesis
- Experience with gastrointestinal procedures including gastrostomy tube placement and paracentesis
- Experience with genitourinary procedures including nephrostomy, renal angiography, and renal artery stent placement
- Experience with uterine arterial embolization
- Skilled in IV therapy including starting and maintaining IVs
- Knowledge of dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Knowledge of radiation and laser safety protocols
- Experience with sheath removal and monitoring
- Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care in pre- and post-procedure Interventional Radiology settings
- Administer and monitor procedural sedation and emergency medications including antihypertensives and thrombolytics
- Perform pressure ulcer assessment and prevention
- Navy blue scrubs required for RNs, with scrubs provided for specialty areas
- Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- Requested time off must be submitted at time of application for consideration
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates within a 50-mile radius are accepted
- Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside outside a 50-mile radius from the facility
