Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Inpatient Rehab Night Shift position requiring TX or compact license and prior rehab/travel experience.

Details

• Inpatient rehabilitation hospital setting specializing in stroke, orthopedic, brain injury, and debilitating condition recovery
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Patient ratio of 1:7
• May float to Long-term acute care (LTAC) or other hospital units to manage med-surg patients
• Epic EMR experience required
• Works within an interdisciplinary care team including physicians, therapists, and support staff

Requirements

• Active TX or Compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Certifications required: ACLS and BLS
• Certifications preferred: CPI and NIHSS
• LTAC experience preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Skills in IV therapy, central line and PICC line management, and blood product administration
• Experience with neurological conditions including CVA, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury
• Experience with wound care/wound vac and isolation precautions/PPE preferred
• Experience in ortho trauma, total joint replacement, and post cardiac surgery care preferred
• Tracheostomy care and nasal cannula management experience preferred
• Experience with rapid response/code team protocols preferred

• Support individualized care plans emphasizing patient independence and functionality
• Facility emphasizes family involvement and education throughout the recovery process
• Utilizes advanced rehabilitation technologies and evidence-based practices
• Not accepting candidates residing in Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, or Morris counties
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted
• Former staff must wait one year before returning as a traveler
• No travel pairs or groups accepted
• All requested time off must be submitted for consideration and no more than 3 days will be auto-approved
• No time off approved during the first week of orientation
• First-time travelers may be considered depending on experience level
