Description
American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN with neurology experience for a 13-week assignment requiring a WA or compact RN license and at least 1 year of relevant experience.
Details
- Work in the Telemetry unit of a short-term acute care, Level II Trauma Center and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center teaching hospital
- Care for post-surgical neurology patients and various neurology diagnoses
- Patient ratio of 1:4
- Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
- Weekend rotation required every other weekend
- Floating between units required
- No on-call requirements
- Uses Epic charting system
Requirements
- Active WA or compact RN license required in hand at time of submission
- Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant RN experience required
- Neurology RN experience required, including comfort with the NIH Stroke Scale
- Epic charting system experience required
- Experience with skills such as BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tube management, craniotomy care, CVA care, pre/post neurosurgery care, spinal cord injury care, traumatic brain injury care, and cardiac dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting
Additional Information
- Provide telemetry and neuro stepdown nursing care including cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and procedural sedation administration/monitoring
- Located within a Level II Trauma Center and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center teaching hospital environment
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Candidates must live within a 50-mile radius to be considered for the local rate
- Former permanent staff may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they do not live within 50 miles of the facility
- Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
- All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront prior to offer, as post-offer requests may not be accommodated
- Scrubs of any color are accepted for RNs
