Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with at least 1 year of experience for a night shift position requiring critical care and ventilator management skills.

Details

• Work in a hospital setting supporting Adult Critical Care and Emergency Department units
• Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 18:30 to 7:00
• Every other weekend required
• Epic charting system experience required
• May be required to float to like units within scope of practice based on facility needs

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of respiratory therapy experience required
• Graduate of an accredited respiratory therapy education program (CoARC or CAAHP) with minimum 20 quarter hours of science coursework
• Associate's degree required, Bachelor's degree preferred
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and RRT or CRT (NBRC)
• PALS and NRP certifications preferred
• Oklahoma license required in hand at time of consideration; license required if applicable
• Skilled in airway management including intubation assist, extubation, and tracheostomy care
• Experience with ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, and weaning from mechanical ventilation
• Proficient in arterial blood gas draws and interpretation
• Experience with medication administration including Albuterol, inhaled steroids, and Nitric Oxide
• Skilled in patient transport including inter-departmental and ambulance transport

Additional Information

• Provide respiratory care to critically ill patients including those with ARDS, aspiration, pneumonia, and cystic fibrosis
• Perform chest physiotherapy and pulmonary hygiene procedures
• Care for patients with fresh tracheostomies and those undergoing bronchoscopy or ECMO
• Administer specialized medications and manage various medication delivery systems
• First-time travelers may be considered based on position details
• Travel pairs or groups are not accepted
• Former staff members must have separated from the facility for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Candidates residing within 75 miles of the facility are not accepted for this position
• No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
