Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with at least 1 year of experience for a night shift position requiring critical care and ventilator management skills.
Details
- Work in a hospital setting supporting Adult Critical Care and Emergency Department units
- Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 18:30 to 7:00
- Every other weekend required
- Epic charting system experience required
- May be required to float to like units within scope of practice based on facility needs
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of respiratory therapy experience required
- Graduate of an accredited respiratory therapy education program (CoARC or CAAHP) with minimum 20 quarter hours of science coursework
- Associate's degree required, Bachelor's degree preferred
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and RRT or CRT (NBRC)
- PALS and NRP certifications preferred
- Oklahoma license required in hand at time of consideration; license required if applicable
- Skilled in airway management including intubation assist, extubation, and tracheostomy care
- Experience with ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, and weaning from mechanical ventilation
- Proficient in arterial blood gas draws and interpretation
- Experience with medication administration including Albuterol, inhaled steroids, and Nitric Oxide
- Skilled in patient transport including inter-departmental and ambulance transport
Additional Information
- Provide respiratory care to critically ill patients including those with ARDS, aspiration, pneumonia, and cystic fibrosis
- Perform chest physiotherapy and pulmonary hygiene procedures
- Care for patients with fresh tracheostomies and those undergoing bronchoscopy or ECMO
- Administer specialized medications and manage various medication delivery systems
- First-time travelers may be considered based on position details
- Travel pairs or groups are not accepted
- Former staff members must have separated from the facility for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
- Candidates residing within 75 miles of the facility are not accepted for this position
- No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
