Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Oncology Clinic position requiring ONS/ONCC certification, Epic experience, and prior travel nursing experience.
Details
- Work in the Oncology Clinic setting
- Provide care to patients with a variety of cancer diagnoses including breast, lung, colorectal, blood, and other malignancies
- Patient ratio of 1:7
- Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
- No weekend requirement
- No float requirement
- No call requirement
- Epic EMR used for charting
Requirements
- Active LA RN license or Compact RN license required at time of consideration
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and ONS/ONCC
- Preferred certification: OCN
- Epic charting experience required
- Skilled in IV therapy, port access and management, and central line care
- Experience administering chemotherapy and biotherapy preferred
- Experience recognizing and managing side effects of chemotherapy and biotherapy preferred
- Phlebotomy skills preferred
- Experience in outpatient oncology and infusion center settings preferred
- Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
- Previous charge nurse experience preferred
Additional Information
- Deliver direct patient care including infusion therapy, chemotherapy administration, and monitoring for treatment side effects
- Provide patient and family education and psychosocial support
- Utilize strong critical thinking skills in a fast-paced oncology clinic environment
- Navy blue scrubs required
- Maximum RTO of 5 days permitted during assignment
- Local candidates within 75 miles are accepted at the local rate
- Permanent staff must be separated from the health system for at least 1 year before being eligible for travel assignments
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
