Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor and Delivery position requiring a PA or compact RN license, EPIC experience, and call coverage.
Details
- Community hospital setting within the Labor and Delivery unit
- Patient population includes antepartum, labor and delivery, mother/baby, and low-risk obstetrical patients
- Facility performs fewer than 100 births per month
- Patient ratio of 1:4
- Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts from 3:00 PM to 3:30 AM
- Every other weekend (EOW) required
- Call requirements apply
- Floating as needed
- Holiday coverage as needed
- EPIC charting system experience required
Requirements
- Active RN license, Pennsylvania or compact, required
- Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required
- Community hospital experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- BLS and NRP certifications required
- ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, and AWHONN Intermediate certifications preferred
- EPIC charting experience required
- Skilled in fetal monitoring, IV therapy, cardiac monitoring, and administration of blood products
- Experience with high-risk OB conditions such as pre-eclampsia, HELLP syndrome, placenta previa, and VBAC management
- Experience with neonatal care in the delivery room, including APGAR scoring and neonatal resuscitation
Additional Information
- Provide comprehensive care across antepartum, labor and delivery, and postpartum stages
- Assist with vaginal deliveries, C-section circulation, and recovery care
- Support newborn care including discharge teaching, metabolic screening, and thermoregulation
- Manage high-risk OB conditions including preterm labor, hemorrhage, and pregnancy-induced hypertension
- Administer medications such as Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and antihypertensives
- May care for COVID-positive patients
- Facility is tobacco and fragrance free
- Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract
- Must reside within a 50-mile radius to qualify for local candidate consideration
- Travel pairs accepted, though matched schedules cannot be guaranteed
