Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring 2 years of ED experience and NC or compact RN licensure.
Details
- 12-hour night shift, 7p-7a, 36 hours per week
- Emergency Department in a 457-bed Trauma Level III teaching hospital with Chest Pain Center, Stroke Center of Excellence, and Bariatric Center of Excellence designations
- RN to patient ratio of 1:5 max, acuity dependent
- Treats trauma patients including GSW, stabbing, MVA, falls, stroke, heart failure, chest pain, fluid resuscitation/blood products, COPD, cardiac cath pre, ETOH/CIWA, IVDA, mental health, respiratory illness, GI disorders, liver failure, and AKI/CKD
- EPIC EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell med dispensing, and Phillips monitors used
- Every other weekend rotation required
- No on-call requirements
- Required to float within Region 1 including Cabarrus, University City, Stanly, any Freestanding ED within Region, Lake Norman, and Central Division (CMC Main, Mercy, LCH)
Requirements
- Active RN license (NC or compact) required
- Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and CPI certifications required
- TNCC certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years of ED experience required, with most recent experience within the last year
- Trauma and stroke experience required
- Skills in cardiac rhythm interpretation, conscious sedation, PIV starts, chest tube management, NGT placement, drain/tube management, critical care drips, and blood administration required
- EPIC EMR experience required
- Last 4 digits of SSN and full DOB required for consideration
- Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the last year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
Additional Information
- Support team includes CNAs, receptionist/HUC, 24/7 charge nurse, IV/VAT team, 24/7 respiratory therapy, 24/7 hospitalist, and ED physicians
- Orientation includes New Employee Orientation (NEO) and 2 days of departmental orientation
- Travelers required to work 75% of holidays
- Up to 6 days of RTO may be approved, excluding holidays, with time added to the end of the contract if contracted hours are not met
- Navy scrub color required
- Free parking available
- First-time travelers not preferred but will be considered
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
- Previous employees must be separated from any AHSE facility for at least 1 year after working a permanent position
