Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Med/Surg RN with NH or Compact RN licensure for a night shift position requiring at least 2 years of equivalent experience and completion of 2 prior travel assignments.

Details

• Work on a 27-bed medical-surgical inpatient unit
• Care for patients with a variety of medical conditions as well as post-operative patients
• Patient population is primarily elderly but can be as young as 18
• Common diagnoses include post-op ortho, general surgery, ETOH, CHF, and pneumonia
• RN to patient ratio of 5:1
• LNA to patient ratio of 3:1
• 12-hour night shifts, 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend required
• Rotating holiday coverage required

Requirements

• Active NH RN license or Compact RN license required, with proof of state residency
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification preferred
• Minimum of 2 years of equivalent experience required
• Minimum of 2 previous travel assignments completed required
• Recent Level 1 or comparable Level 2 Trauma experience within the last 2 years required
• Experience with post-surgical drains required
• Experience with central line care and maintenance required
• Experience with Foley insertion required
• Experience with G tubes, J tubes, NG tubes, and PEG tubes required
• Experience with IV medication administration and IV push required
• Experience with wound care required
• Experience with O2 therapy required
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• Telemetry experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide medical-surgical nursing care to a diverse inpatient population including post-operative patients
• Local candidates are not accepted due to a 75-mile radius rule
• First-time travelers will not be considered given the requirement for 2 completed travel assignments
