Description
American Traveler is hiring an Echo Technologist/Cardiac Sonographer with 5+ years of experience and current SC licensure to perform adult and pediatric echocardiography studies.
Details
- Hospital-based Echo/Cardiac Sonographer position
- Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
- Candidates may float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals
- Epic charting system required
- Performs adult and pediatric echocardiography studies
- Work settings include adult acute care and adult outpatient
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Echo Technologist/Cardiac Sonographer
- Current SC license required at time of submission; no pending licenses accepted (license required if applicable)
- BLS certification required
- ARDMS, CCI, CCI RCS, or RDCS certification required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Skilled in adult echo including 2-D, 3-D, bubble study, color Doppler, imaging with contrast agents, M-mode, pharmacologic stress echo, portable studies, RVIT, RVOT, routine echo, TEE, and treadmill stress echo
- Skilled in pediatric echo including 2-D, 3-D, color Doppler, continuous wave Doppler, M-mode, portable studies, pulsed wave Doppler, RVIT, RVOT, routine studies, scanning complex anomalies, and scanning post-surgical repairs
- Experience with pediatric congenital anomalies including aortic arch abnormalities/vascular ring, coarctation of the aorta, coronary artery anomalies, double outlet ventricle, hypoplastic heart syndrome, pulmonary venous return anomalies, tetralogy of Fallot, transposition of the great vessels, and tricuspid/pulmonary atresia
- Proficient in calculations including diastology, LV strain/LV volume, proximal isovelocity surface area, and Simpson's Rule
- Experience with GE and Philips ultrasound equipment and PACS
- Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE protocols
- Ability to obtain 12-lead EKG/ECG
- Experience performing procedures on patients in ICU/ED settings
- Two supervisory references required
- Copy of certifications required for consideration
Additional Information
- Local candidates accepted at local rate
- Candidates must live within a 50-mile radius of the facility
- First-time travelers not accepted for this role
- Former staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 5 years to be eligible as a traveler
- RTO should be kept to a minimum, with no time off requested during the first two weeks or full calendar weeks off during the assignment
- Any RTO must be approved and documented prior to the start of the assignment
- Some holiday coverage should be expected
- Overtime applies after 48 hours for candidates confirmed to 4x12 schedules
