Description
American Traveler is seeking a Travel RN for a Heart & Vascular Recovery night shift position requiring 2+ years of stepdown/ICU cardiac experience and MO or compact RN licensure.
Details
- Work in an 8-bed Heart and Vascular Recovery unit within a hospital setting
- Care for pre- and post-procedural cardiac patients including cardiac cath lab, electrophysiology, and vascular patients
- Patient population includes STEMI post care patients
- Patient ratios vary, with days estimated at 1:4-1:5
- Uses general monitoring equipment and EKG
- Charts in EPIC
- Night shift, 3x12, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
- Weekend requirements as needed by facility, approximately every other weekend
- No on-call requirements
- Floating required as needed to a similar or lower acuity unit
Requirements
- Active RN license eligible for licensure in Missouri or currently licensed in Missouri
- BLS and ACLS certifications from AHA required
- Minimum 2 years of stepdown/ICU cardiac experience required
- Cardiac rhythm proficiency and ability to identify cardiac emergencies required
- Experience with TR bands and pulling sheaths preferred
- Cardiac telemetry, pre/post cardiac care, and cardiac step-down experience preferred
- No employment gaps of 90+ days within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care using the nursing process including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation for all age groups
- Maintain professional accountability for patient care and evaluate effectiveness of care provided by other direct caregivers
- Coordinate patient care in conjunction with other departments while maintaining patient rights and confidentiality
- Flu vaccination or facility-approved exemption required for all travelers from November 1 to April 1, with no declinations accepted
- Position requires standing and walking most of the shift with bending, stooping, lifting, and turning patients with assistance
- High risk exposure to blood and body fluids
- Must be able to push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs., pinch up to 15 lbs., and perform minimal kneeling, crouching, and crawling
- Black scrubs and closed-toe shoes required
- Up to 5 days of requested time off allowed but must be made up during the assignment
- Local candidates within 50 miles of the facility are accepted at a reduced bill rate
