Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a seasonal PACU travel assignment requiring at least one year of recent acute care hospital PACU experience and a KS or compact RN license.
Details
- Work in the Recovery Room / PACU unit of a hospital setting
- 30-bed unit with day shift staffing of 1 charge nurse and 12 nurses
- Night shift typically staffed with 2 RNs, sometimes on-call rather than scheduled
- Patient ratios of 1 RN:2 patients or 1 RN:1 patient depending on acuity
- Common procedures include craniotomies and orthopedic surgeries
- Uses Meditech EMR
- 13-week assignment with a 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM shift schedule
- On-call required with a 30-minute response time when on call
Requirements
- Active KS or compact RN license required
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 1 year of current acute care hospital PACU RN experience required
- Prior Meditech experience preferred
- Flexibility with hours preferred
- US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Provide post-anesthesia recovery care to surgical patients, including those recovering from craniotomies and orthopedic procedures
- Candidates should have a great attitude, remain calm under stress, and prioritize patient experience
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates will not be considered
- First-time travelers may be considered for this role
