Description
American Traveler is hiring an Ultrasound Technologist with 1+ year of specialty experience and ARDMS registration to perform diagnostic ultrasound exams in a hospital setting.
Details
- Hospital-based Ultrasound department
- Variable 10-hour shifts, 4 days per week, totaling 40 hours weekly
- Uses Epic for charting and documentation
- Performs vascular procedures and other ultrasound imaging exams
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in the specialty being submitted for
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Current BLS certification (AHA) required and must not expire prior to start
- ARDMS registration required, with completion of one registry pertinent to the department beyond physics (options include OB, abdominal, neuro, breast, pediatric, or vascular)
- RDMS (BR) - Breast Specialty certification from ARDMS required
- License required if applicable
- Must be able to lift, bend, carry, push, pull, and stand for extended periods
- Manual dexterity to operate complex and delicate equipment with precision
- Strong verbal communication skills, especially during emergency situations
- Proficiency with computers and typing for documentation purposes
Additional Information
- Perform ultrasound examinations under physician direction to aid in patient diagnosis
- Verify patient identification and orders, and prepare patients for exams
- Review images for quality, clarity, and accuracy
- Complete studies within acceptable time limits while maintaining quality patient care
- Assist and instruct students and other radiology techs in exam protocols and positioning
- Provide patient education and ensure patient comfort throughout exams
- Practice appropriate infection control and sterile techniques
- Maintain accurate records of patient information, procedures, and any adverse reactions
- Follow protocols for medical necessity, coding, charging, consents, and quality control programs
- Report equipment failures and maintain modality-specific competency
- Work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment
- Respond effectively to emergency situations
- Returning Intermountain employees must be separated from any Intermountain facility for at least one year before being eligible for a travel assignment
