Description
American Traveler is hiring a Perioperative RN for a rural hospital surgical team, requiring a UT or compact RN license and willingness to take rotating on-call shifts
Details
- Work within the Surgical/Operating Room department of a rural hospital
- Perioperative role covering pre-op, intra-op circulating, and PACU responsibilities
- Handles General, Ortho, and OB cases including C-sections
- Day shift schedule, Monday-Friday 5x8's
- Requires rotating on-call responsibilities including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- On-call averages 7-9 days per month with a 20-minute response time to the hospital
- May be called upon to assist with trauma cases in the Emergency Room
- May serve as the sole OR nurse in-house during emergency call cases
Requirements
- Active, unencumbered RN license in Utah or compact state
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Current BLS certification required
- Current ACLS certification required, or ability to obtain within three months of hire
- No minimum years of experience required
- Strong knowledge of aseptic and sterile techniques
- Solid understanding of patient safety and precautions
- Excellent oral, written, and listening communication skills
- Ability to remain calm and respond effectively in stressful, rapidly changing situations
- Emotional and physical stamina required
Additional Information
- Provide care to surgical patients before, during, and after operations and procedures
- Work as part of a collaborative surgical team supporting a rural community hospital
- Prior experience in pre-op and/or PACU preferred
- Knowledge of surgical operation procedures is a plus
- Comfort and confidence caring for surgical patients independently during night emergency call cases is preferred
- Must successfully complete a pre-employment drug test and background check
- First-time travelers may be considered for this role
