Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Med/Surg RN for a 13-week day shift assignment requiring TX or compact RN license, BLS, and at least 1 year of Med/Surg experience.

Details

• Medical Surgical unit 2W within a hospital setting
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (6:45 AM 4/4 week schedule requiring availability for 4 of 8 weekend shifts per 4-week cycle (Sat/Sun for day shift)
• Floating required to 3W and other units as needed
• Any charting system experience required

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required (AHA)
• ACLS, PALS, and CPI certifications preferred
• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg RN experience required
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tubes, high flow nasal cannula, and oxygen administration
• IV therapy and phlebotomy skills including peripheral line care and starting/maintaining IVs
• Experience managing GI conditions such as bowel obstruction and colostomy/ileostomy care
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and rapid response/code team protocols
• Experience with wound care and wound vac management
• Nursys verification required

• RTO requests are reviewed case by case and factored into overall contract length
• Travel pairs considered on a case-by-case basis
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this role
• Located in Kerrville, TX, known as Texas wine country, about 1 hour from San Antonio
