Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift position requiring 2 years of med/surg and short stay experience with telemetry skills preferred.

Details

• Med/Surg unit in a hospital setting located in Texas's wine country, about an hour outside San Antonio
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 18:30 to 07:00
• Patient ratio of 1:5 on days and 1:6 on nights
• Floating required to 2W, CDU, and ARU units
• Meditech charting system preferred experience

Requirements

• Active TX or Compact RN license required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience required
• Med/Surg and short stay unit experience required
• Telemetry experience preferred
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
• Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line care
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, oxygen administration, and nasal cannula
• Cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management skills
• Wound care and isolation precaution/PPE knowledge

• RTO requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis and factored into total contract length
• Facility conducts its own onsite drug screening upon arrival, including marijuana testing, with zero tolerance for positive results
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for the position
• Local candidates are not accepted
• Travel pairs may be considered on a case-by-case basis
• Facility housing is available
• First-time travelers may be considered depending on experience level
