Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Labor and Delivery RN for a night shift assignment requiring CA RN license, AWHONN Intermediate certification, and at least 3 years of L&D experience with C-section circulating skills.
Details
- Work in the Labor and Delivery unit of a teaching hospital
- Facility handles 200-300 births per month
- High Risk Antepartum, LDRP, Level I Nursery, and Mother/Baby settings are part of the care environment
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00 to 07:30
- Ability to float to other UCSF facilities within a 75+ mile radius
- Epic EMR experience required
Requirements
- Active CA RN license required
- BSN required
- Current certifications: AHA BLS, ACLS, and NRP
- AWHONN Intermediate certification required (AWHONN Advanced preferred)
- Minimum 3 years of Labor and Delivery RN experience, including at least 1 year of recent experience
- Postpartum care experience required
- Ability to circulate for C-sections required
- Teaching hospital experience required
- Previous travel assignment experience required
- Two completed references from most recent employer required at time of consideration
Additional Information
- Provide comprehensive care across antepartum, labor and delivery, postpartum, and newborn stages
- Skills utilized include fetal monitoring (external and internal), IUPC placement, amnioinfusion, and assisting with high-risk and vaginal deliveries
- Experience with medication administration including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and antihypertensives is expected
- Neonatal care responsibilities include APGAR scoring, neonatal resuscitation, and newborn assessments
- Postpartum care includes management of postpartum hemorrhage, cesarean section recovery, and couplet care
- Any prior employment with University of California medical facilities or their acquired facilities must be disclosed, including dates worked, units, and manager names for rehire eligibility review
- All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted and approved by the manager at time of offer; RTO cannot fall within the first two weeks of the assignment, and no additional requests will be accepted mid-contract
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rates as traveling candidates
- Travel pairs are allowed but generally will not be placed on the same unit, and married couples may not work together on the same unit
