Description
American Traveler is seeking an Inpatient Acute Physical Therapist with 2+ years of experience for a fast-paced Level 2 trauma center setting.
Details
- Acute inpatient hospital setting within a Level 2 trauma center
- Treats patients with neurological, orthopedic, cardiovascular, oncological, and general medical conditions
- Works across all hospital units, mostly located in one tower
- Day shift schedule, 8:30 AM-5:00 PM, Monday-Friday
- Requires a minimum of 2 weekend days per month, with additional weekend opportunities available
- Uses Cerner EMR
- Part of a large rehab team of approximately 45-50 associates including PT, OT, and speech therapy staff
- Core team includes about 8 physical therapists and 3 physical therapist assistants, supplemented by approximately 7 PRN staff
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of physical therapy experience required
- PT license required if applicable
- Experience in an acute care hospital setting preferred
- Must be able to work independently with strong critical thinking and decisive judgment
- Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, stressful environment
- Must follow standard precautions and use personal protective equipment as required

- Performs initial and ongoing patient assessments and develops individualized treatment plans
- Provides physical therapy interventions tailored to each patient's condition
- Oversees physical therapy assistants, students, and other support personnel
- Engages regularly with an interdisciplinary care team
- Provides real-time documentation and point-of-service care
- Team-based training provided to prepare clinicians for their role
- Radius rule applies, with local candidates accepted at a reduced rate that varies by location
