Description

American Traveler is seeking an Inpatient Acute Physical Therapist with 2+ years of experience to work in a level 2 trauma center treating a diverse patient population.

Details

• Acute care setting within a level 2 trauma center
• Day shift schedule, Monday through Friday, approximately 8:30 AM-5:00 PM
• Minimum of 2 weekend days per month required, with additional weekend opportunities available
• Patient population includes neurological, orthopedic, cardiovascular, oncological, and general medical conditions
• Works across all hospital units, primarily located in one tower
• Uses Cerner EMR for real-time documentation and point of service care
• Collaborates regularly with a large interdisciplinary rehab team of approximately 45-50 associates, including occupational and speech therapy
• Core team includes about 8 physical therapists and 3 physical therapist assistants, supplemented by PRN staff

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of physical therapy experience required
• PT license required if applicable
• Experience in a fast-paced acute care or trauma setting preferred
• Strong critical thinking skills and decisive judgment required
• Ability to work with minimal supervision in a stressful environment
• Must be able to oversee physical therapy assistants, students, and support personnel
• Must follow standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required

• Responsibilities include performing initial and ongoing patient assessments and developing individualized care plans
• Performs therapy interventions using standard physical therapy techniques appropriate to patient conditions
• Engages regularly with an interdisciplinary care team
• Training provided by the team to prepare for clinical responsibilities
