Description

American Traveler is seeking an Inpatient Acute Physical Therapist with 2+ years of experience for a fast-paced Level 2 trauma center setting.

Details

• Acute inpatient hospital setting within a Level 2 trauma center
• Treats patients with neurological, orthopedic, cardiovascular, oncological, and general medical conditions
• Works across all hospital units, mostly located in one tower
• Day shift schedule, 8:30 AM-5:00 PM, Monday-Friday
• Requires a minimum of 2 weekend days per month, with additional weekend opportunities available
• Uses Cerner EMR
• Part of a large rehab team of approximately 45-50 associates including PT, OT, and speech therapy staff
• Core team includes about 8 physical therapists and 3 physical therapist assistants, supplemented by approximately 7 PRN staff

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of physical therapy experience required
• PT license required if applicable
• Experience in an acute care hospital setting preferred
• Must be able to work independently with strong critical thinking and decisive judgment
• Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, stressful environment
• Must follow standard precautions and use personal protective equipment as required

• Performs initial and ongoing patient assessments and develops individualized treatment plans
• Provides physical therapy interventions tailored to each patient's condition
• Oversees physical therapy assistants, students, and other support personnel
• Engages regularly with an interdisciplinary care team
• Provides real-time documentation and point-of-service care
• Team-based training provided to prepare clinicians for their role
• Radius rule applies, with local candidates accepted at a reduced rate that varies by location
