Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (CRT/RRT) for a night shift position requiring active BLS, ACLS, and NBRC certification.

Details

• Work in the Respiratory/Neuro Diagnostics unit within a hospital setting
• Care for adult critical care and emergency department patients
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 18:30 to 07:00
• Every other weekend required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Floating to like units within scope may be required based on facility needs

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited respiratory therapy education program (CoARC or CAAHP)
• Minimum of 20 quarter hours of science coursework
• Associate's degree required, Bachelor's degree preferred
• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, CRT or RRT (NBRC)
• PALS and NRP certifications preferred
• Oklahoma license or compact license required at time of submission
• License required if applicable

Additional Information

• Perform airway management including intubation assist, extubation, and tracheostomy care
• Provide pulmonary hygiene services including suctioning and nebulizer treatments
• Manage oxygen therapy delivery including HFNC, bag and mask, and trach collar
• Perform ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, and weaning from mechanical ventilation
• Assist with inter-departmental and ambulance patient transport
• Draw and interpret arterial blood gases
• Administer respiratory medications including Albuterol, inhaled steroids, and Nitric Oxide
• Provide care for patients with ARDS, aspiration, COVID, cystic fibrosis, and fresh tracheostomy
• First-time travelers will be considered based on position details
• Former staff must have separated from employment for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• No travel pairs or groups accepted
• Candidates residing within 75 miles of the facility are not accepted for this position
• RTO must be submitted at time of application, with no more than 3 days auto-approved and no RTO permitted during the first week of orientation
