Description
American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN with Neurology experience for a night shift position that welcomes first-time travelers
Details
- Work in the Telemetry unit of a short-term acute care hospital
- Care for post-surgical neurology patients and various neurology diagnoses
- Patient ratio of 1:5
- Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
- Required to work every other weekend
- Floating between units required
- No on-call responsibilities
- Uses Epic EMR
Requirements
- Active WA or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
- Neurology RN experience required
- Proficient with NIH Stroke Scale and post-surgical neurology patient care
- Epic EMR experience required
- Skills needed include cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, craniotomy care, CVA care, pre/post neurosurgery care, spinal cord injury care, and traumatic brain injury care
- Experience with BiPAP/CPAP management and chest tube management (Emerson/PleurEvac) preferred
- Experience with procedural sedation administration and monitoring preferred
Additional Information
- Facility is a Level II Trauma Center and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center, and a teaching hospital
- Provide telemetry nursing care to neurology patients including cardiac monitoring and emergency response
- May be required to float between sister facilities near the contracted facility
- Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- RTO requests must be submitted upfront during the application process
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Any RN scrub color accepted
- Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
- Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility may be considered at a local, non-travel rate
- Two supervisory references required, covering 1 year of experience within the last 3 years
