Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift position at a rehabilitation medical center requiring at least 2 years of experience and a WA or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in the Medical Surgical unit of a rehabilitation hospital with 91 staffed beds
• Teaching hospital setting
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
• Patient ratios of 1 to 6-8
• Weekend work required, minimum every other weekend based on facility needs
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating between units required, with potential floating to sister facilities nearby
• Uses Epic charting system
• 48-hour work weeks approved
• Scrubs of any color accepted on all units
• No parking fees

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license required, must be in hand at time of consideration
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg nursing experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Experience with neurological/psychiatric conditions including CVA, pre/post neurosurgery, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury
• Experience with isolation precautions and PPE
• Respiratory care skills including nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, oxygen administration, and oxygen tank use
• IV therapy and phlebotomy skills
• Peripheral line care and management experience
• Cardiac monitoring and emergency response experience, including use of rapid response/code teams
• Full SSN and DOB required for consideration
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care in a Med/Surg unit within a rehabilitation hospital setting
• Respond to and utilize rapid response and code teams as needed
• Must be willing to float between units and potentially to sister facilities within the state
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• RTO requests should be submitted upfront during the consideration process, as post-offer requests may not be accommodated
• Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to qualify for travel rate, or be accepted locally at a reduced rate
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a travel RN and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
• Candidates must disclose any prior work history with Providence facilities, including permanent, travel, or per-diem roles
