Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift assignment requiring at least 1 year of L&D experience and prior travel nursing experience.
Details
- Work in the Labor and Delivery unit of a hospital with a Level III NICU and deliveries starting at 22 weeks
- 12-bed unit with a 1:2 patient ratio
- Facility averages 200-300 births per month
- Night shift schedule of 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
- Required to work 6 weekend shifts (Friday, Saturday, or Sunday nights) per 6-week schedule
- No on-call responsibilities
- Floating required within facility and scope of practice as needed
- Epic charting system preferred
Requirements
- Active GA or Compact RN license required
- Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Current certifications required: ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate, FHM, NRP, BLS
- AWHONN Advanced certification preferred
- Experience with antepartum care and procedures, fetal monitoring, IV therapy/phlebotomy, and neonatal care in the delivery room
- Experience managing labor and delivery including vaginal delivery and C-section circulation/recovery
- Postpartum care experience with C-section, postpartum hemorrhage, pregnancy-induced hypertension, and vaginal delivery patients
- Experience caring for high-risk conditions including pre-eclampsia, eclampsia, placenta accreta/percreta/increta, and PROM
- Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
- Two supervisory references (Manager or above) preferred at time of consideration
Additional Information
- Provide comprehensive care across antepartum, labor and delivery, and postpartum stages
- Manage high-risk obstetric conditions including diabetes, cholestasis, pyelonephritis, and placental abruption
- Perform neonatal care in the delivery room including APGAR scoring and neonatal resuscitation
- Utilize external and internal fetal monitoring, including IUPC placement and calibration
- Administer medications such as magnesium sulfate, terbutaline, and antihypertensives
- Support high-risk deliveries including VBAC management, malpresentations, and multiple gestations
- Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, which must be finalized at time of consideration
- No RTO can be requested during orientation week
- Holiday coverage required per facility policy based on number of major holidays falling within the assignment
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this unit
- Local candidates accepted at the same rate
- Previous Piedmont employees (Perm/Per Diem/FCSS) must be away from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before applying as a traveler
