Description

American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist for an Acute Care Hospital setting requiring 1+ year of experience and current Arizona licensure.

Details

• Acute Care Hospital unit within a Short Term Acute Care, teaching facility with Level IV trauma designation and 87 staffed beds
• Average daily census of 11 patients
• Day shift schedule: 4x10-hour shifts, Sunday-Wednesday, 8:00 AM-6:30 PM
• One weekend day required per schedule
• Department operates 7 days a week
• May be asked to float to surrounding clinics
• No on-call requirements
• Uses Cerner for charting
• Patient population includes orthopedic, cardiopulmonary, neurologic, and wound care cases
• Works with mod-max assist patients, co-treatments, and ventilated patients

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of physical therapy experience required
• Current Arizona PT license required and must be in hand prior to start; license required if applicable
• BLS certification (American Heart Association) required
• Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card required
• Wound care certification preferred
• Generalist background preferred with confidence in medical diagnosis
• Ability to manage mod-max assist patients and perform co-treatments preferred
• Experience working with ventilated patients preferred
• Ability to pivot easily and manage additional evaluations throughout the day preferred
• Cerner charting experience preferred

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include patient assessment, evaluation, treatment planning, and discharge planning across an acute care caseload
• Must be comfortable floating without restrictions, including to nearby affiliate hospitals or other units based on skills and census needs
• Candidates must be available to work 2 recognized holidays, including New Year's Day, Memorial Day weekend, Independence Day weekend, Thanksgiving Day, or Christmas Day
• Orientation includes completion of hospital modules during the first week, averaging approximately 6 hours
• No RTO permitted during the first week of assignment due to orientation
• RTO requests require unit manager approval

• Facility is allowed to call off up to 6 times over a 13-week assignment
• All staff expected to adhere to facility quality and patient safety standards, including medication administration protocols (BCMA)
