Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Registered Nurse for a Cardiovascular ICU position requiring Level I trauma center CVICU experience and EPIC proficiency.

Details

• Cardiac surgery intensive care unit setting
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:00
• 13-week assignment
• Floating within scope of practice may be required
• Uses EPIC EMR system

Requirements

• Active RN license (VA or Compact) required in hand at time of consideration
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of CVICU/CSICU experience at a Level I trauma facility required
• 5-6 years of CVICU experience preferred
• BSN preferred
• Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program (diploma, Associate's, or BSN accepted)
• EPIC charting experience required
• Experience with conscious sedation, pulmonary artery lines, telemetry, and ventilators
• Conscious sedation experience preferred
• 2 professional references required

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to cardiac surgery patients in a Level I trauma teaching hospital
• Complete required orientation modules by the Friday of orientation week
• Facility maintains a natural nail policy
• Drug, tobacco, and smoke-free workplace
• Facility will review all background check findings
• Time off requests must be submitted for consideration and approved by the unit manager; no time off granted during the first week of the assignment; holidays are not guaranteed off
• Local candidates accepted at the same base rate with no radius restrictions
• Both travelers and permanent staff must have a 12-month gap in employment with the facility before returning as a traveler
• Weekly hours should not exceed 40 unless approved by the unit manager
