Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN for a Critical Care Float position at a Level I Trauma teaching hospital, requiring at least 3 years of critical care experience including Neuro ICU and prior travel nursing experience.
Details
- Critical Care Float pool position floating to all critical care units within scope
- Level I Trauma, Magnet-designated academic teaching hospital
- Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call responsibilities
- No block scheduling accommodations available
- Epic EMR system used for charting
Requirements
- Active WA or compact RN license required
- Minimum 3 years of critical care experience required, with Level I Trauma Center experience
- Neuro ICU experience required plus an additional ICU specialty such as MICU, Trauma ICU, Burn ICU, or CVICU
- Recent ICU experience within the last year required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Academic/teaching facility experience required
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS
- Preferred certification: TNCC
- Must be proficient in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, verified by a competency test
- Required skills: ventilator management, IV starts, telemetry, and conscious sedation
- Preferred skills: ICP monitoring and PA lines
- Two references required, preferably from direct supervisors
- COVID vaccination and booster required with no exceptions
Additional Information
- Float to all critical care units based on facility needs within scope of practice
- Manage complex critical care patients including those with ventilators, arterial lines, central lines, and PICC lines
- Administer blood products and manage continuous IV sedation, paralytics, and vasoactive drips
- Provide care for neurological patients including CVA/stroke, post-craniotomy, and traumatic brain injury cases
- Support cardiac monitoring including dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Must work 2 of the 3 major holidays, with eve/day counted as one holiday set
- RTO must be submitted prior to facility submission, with minimal additional RTO accommodated afterward
- No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment
- Prior UW/Harborview staff must have an 18-month separation before returning as a traveler
- Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate with no radius restriction
- Scrubs may be any solid color, with light blue scrubs also provided on unit
- First-time travelers not accepted due to strong ICU experience requirement
