Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN for a night shift position requiring 2-3 years of Emergency Department experience and multiple advanced certifications.
Details
- Work in a General Emergency Department serving combined Adult/Pediatric patients
- Level I and Level II Trauma Center setting
- Night shift schedule (4x12 hours, 19:00-7:30)
- Every other weekend required
- Floating required within the hospital or to nearby affiliate/sister facilities
- Uses Cerner charting system
- Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
Requirements
- Active RN license (IN or Compact) required, must be in hand prior to start date
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, and TNCC
- Minimum 2-3 years of ER experience required
- Cerner charting experience required
- Nursing degree must be from a university accredited by ACEN or CCNE at time of graduation
- 2 supervisor references required
- Skills required: IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, starting and maintaining IVs, respiratory care, care of ventilated patients, continuous IV sedation, and neurological/CVA care
- Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and triage required
Additional Information
- Provide emergency care to a combined adult and pediatric patient population in a high-acuity trauma center environment
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply if they meet the required 2-3 years of ER experience
- Local candidates are not accepted for this position
- Current or former IU Health permanent or PRN employees must wait 12 months before applying as a traveler
- Current or past IU Health travelers who have accrued 12 months of travel employment must take a designated consecutive break to reset eligibility (90 days for out-of-state residents, 180 days for in-state residents)
- Up to 5 days of non-holiday RTO can be auto-approved; additional time off requires facility approval
