Description
American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring a NY RN license and 1 year of MS/Tele experience.
Details
- Work in the Med/Surg Tele unit of a hospital setting
- Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00
- 13-week assignment length
- Patient ratio of 1:6
- EPIC EMR charting experience preferred
Requirements
- Active NY RN license in hand at time of consideration
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg Tele nursing experience required
- Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral/central line care
- Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and management
- Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE use
- Experience with insulin, heparin, and PCA medication administration
- Familiarity with wound care and gastrointestinal ostomy/feeding tube management
Additional Information
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to Med/Surg Tele patients including cardiac monitoring and emergency response
- Manage central and peripheral IV lines, PICC lines, and blood product administration
- Support patients with renal failure, post-neurosurgery, and total joint replacement needs
- Utilize rapid response and code teams as needed
- Maximum of 5 days RTO allowed, excluding holidays
- Must reside 50+ miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Former Guthrie Healthcare System employees must have a minimum one-year separation before returning as a traveler
- Approximately 4 hours of non-billable orientation modules required prior to start
