Description
American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN with an active MA license and at least 2 years of experience for a night shift assignment requiring Epic proficiency.
Details
- Work on a Neuro/Tele unit that also covers Neuro Surgery, ENT Surgery, and Orthopedic overflow
- Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-07:00)
- Every other weekend required
- Union facility with no special scheduling accommodations, must be able to work all 7 days of the week
- Epic EMR experience required
Requirements
- Active MA RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience
- Required certifications: BLS and NIHSS
- ACLS preferred
- Required Epic charting system experience
- Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred
- Clinical skills in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, and telemetry unit monitoring
- Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, tracheostomy care, and oxygen administration
- Experience with IV therapy, central/peripheral line care, and blood product administration
- Experience in neurological care including craniotomy, CVA, intracranial bleeds, lumbar drains, and post-TPA care
- Experience with wound care/wound vac and isolation precautions/PPE
- Two professional references required for consideration, with at least one from a Nurse Manager or higher
Additional Information
- Provide comprehensive telemetry nursing care across neuro, ENT surgery, and orthopedic patient populations
- Complete a pass/fail medication exam and a pass/fail telemetry exam during orientation, each allowing only one attempt
- Failure to pass either exam results in immediate cancellation of the contract
- Study materials will be provided throughout the compliance process and prior to start
- Minimal RTO available, limited to 2-3 days
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates accepted within a 200-mile radius at the same bill rate
- Returning staff must have a 12-month separation from the health system
