Description

American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN with an active MA license and at least 2 years of experience for a night shift assignment requiring Epic proficiency.

Details

Work on a Neuro/Tele unit that also covers Neuro Surgery, ENT Surgery, and Orthopedic overflow
Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-07:00)
Every other weekend required
Union facility with no special scheduling accommodations, must be able to work all 7 days of the week
Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

Active MA RN license required
Minimum 2 years of RN experience
Required certifications: BLS and NIHSS
ACLS preferred
Required Epic charting system experience
Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred
Clinical skills in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, and telemetry unit monitoring
Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, tracheostomy care, and oxygen administration
Experience with IV therapy, central/peripheral line care, and blood product administration
Experience in neurological care including craniotomy, CVA, intracranial bleeds, lumbar drains, and post-TPA care
Experience with wound care/wound vac and isolation precautions/PPE
Two professional references required for consideration, with at least one from a Nurse Manager or higher

Additional Information

Provide comprehensive telemetry nursing care across neuro, ENT surgery, and orthopedic patient populations
Complete a pass/fail medication exam and a pass/fail telemetry exam during orientation, each allowing only one attempt
Failure to pass either exam results in immediate cancellation of the contract
Study materials will be provided throughout the compliance process and prior to start
Minimal RTO available, limited to 2-3 days
First-time travelers are welcome to apply
Local candidates accepted within a 200-mile radius at the same bill rate
Returning staff must have a 12-month separation from the health system
