Description
American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a Flex Pool night shift position requiring an active Hawaii RN license and 2+ years of experience floating between multiple units.
Details
- Flex RN position floating between various medical and surgical units
- Potential float assignments include the Medical Unit (77 beds), Laulima Surgical Acute Unit (18 beds), and on rare occasions the Cardiovascular Unit (15 beds)
- Nurse to patient ratios are 1:6 on days/evenings and 1:8 on nights for the Medical Unit, 1:6 for the Laulima Unit, and 1:4 for the Cardiovascular Unit
- Ratios may vary due to unexpected staff leaves
- Uses Meditech EMR, Pyxis, wound vac, and chest tubes
- 12-hour night shifts (1845-0715)
- Scheduled 36 hours per week following the first week of orientation
- No guarantee of hours
Requirements
- Active Hawaii RN license required by start of assignment
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- PALS, Procedural Sedation, TNCC, and ENPC certifications preferred
- 2-10 years of RN experience required
- Documented proof of immunity required; medical and religious exemptions will not be accepted in lieu of this documentation
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care while floating across medical and surgical units as needed
- Unit-specific orientation and training time provided for each floated unit
- Must report to Employee Health 48-72 hours prior to the start of the assignment, with appointments scheduled through Hilo Employee Health
- Candidates should plan to arrive in Hawaii by the Thursday before a Monday start to report to Employee Health that Friday morning
- Professional nursing attire required, including clean scrubs
