Description
American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Combined Adult/Pediatric Emergency Department position requiring 2+ years of ED experience and Epic proficiency.
Details
- General Emergency Department setting treating combined adult and pediatric patient populations
- Patient ratio of 1:4
- Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
- Every other weekend required, with additional weekend availability appreciated
- Holiday coverage required as needed
- Float required to sister ED campus, with potential floating to any Cone Health campus as needed
- Epic EMR required, with Cerner experience preferred
Requirements
- Active RN license (NC or Compact) required and must be in hand at time of submission
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS
- TNCC certification preferred
- General ED experience with combined adult/pediatric population required
- Charge RN experience preferred
- Triage experience required
- Skilled in phlebotomy and starting/maintaining IVs
- Proficient in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Epic charting system experience required
- Must pass a compliance EKG exam with up to two attempts allowed
- Current driver's license required to verify address
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include triage, cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, phlebotomy, and IV therapy
- Experience with BiPAP/CPAP management, care of ventilated patients, and ABG interpretation preferred
- Experience with continuous IV sedation, IV vasopressors, and procedural sedation preferred
- Experience with neurological emergencies such as CVA, ICP monitoring, neuro-trauma, and traumatic brain injury preferred
- Experience with shock/trauma cases including gunshot wounds and traumatic amputations preferred
- Experience with pediatric emergencies such as head injury and near drowning preferred
- Experience with orthopedic trauma preferred
- Isolation precautions and PPE knowledge preferred
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- RTO must be submitted with the initial application; post-submission RTO requests are not accepted
- Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility and local candidates within this radius will not be considered
- Third-party education verification is required and degrees from schools on the Florida Diploma Fraud Audit list will not be accepted
- No open background check cases permitted
