Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift position requiring 2+ years of experience and a South Carolina or compact RN license.

Details

• Acute care hospital setting on a Med/Surg Tele unit
• Level III Trauma facility with 286 staffed beds
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 6:45pm-7:15am
• Patient ratio of 1:5-6
• Required to work every other weekend
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required within scope to like units or sister facilities as needed
• Uses Epic EMR
• Facility may call off up to 1 shift per 2 weeks

Requirements

• Active SC RN license or Compact license required in hand prior to start
• BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIHSS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Tele competency required
• Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central and PICC line management, blood product administration, and cardiac monitoring
• Experience with wound care, isolation precautions, and dysrhythmia interpretation/management preferred
• Driver's license and SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care on a Med/Surg Telemetry unit including cardiac monitoring, respiratory support, and post-cardiac cath care
• Scrub color required is Royal Blue
• No cost parking available on site
• First-time travelers may be considered depending on the position
• Previous MUSC perm or PRN staff must be separated from the system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Local candidates accepted on a case-by-case basis at a reduced rate
• Radius rule of 60 miles applies, with non-local candidates prioritized
• All requested time off must be submitted at time of application for facility approval
• Employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response duties during hurricane season (June-November)
• Approximately 4 hours of non-billable training modules required prior to start
• Block scheduling may be requested but is not guaranteed
