Description
American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift assignment requiring MO or compact RN licensure and 1 year of inpatient Med/Surg experience.
Details
- Inpatient Med/Surg unit setting within a hospital
- Patient population and ratios vary by unit
- Night shift schedule, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
- Every other weekend required as needed by facility
- No on-call requirements
- Floating required as needed to a similar or lower acuity unit
- Uses Epic EMR
- Night shift orientation occurs on day shift, requiring full availability that week
Requirements
- Active RN license eligible for or currently licensed in Missouri, or compact license
- BLS certification from AHA required
- ACLS certification from AHA preferred
- Minimum 1 year of recent inpatient Med/Surg experience required
- No gaps in employment of 90+ days within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care using the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation for all age groups
- Coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize care and comfort
- Maintain professional accountability and evaluate care provided by other direct caregivers
- Maintain patient rights and confidentiality of patient information
- Care for patients with post-trauma, surgical, and medical comorbidity conditions
- Work in a Level 2 Trauma Center with Comprehensive Stroke Center and Level 1 STEMI Center designations
- Flu vaccination required for all travelers from November 1 through April 1, with no declinations accepted
- Black scrubs required as part of dress code
- RTO of up to 5 days allowed but must be made up during the assignment
- Only one holiday RTO request permitted per assignment
- Local candidates accepted, though local candidates are restricted to 3 consecutive 13-week contracts before requiring a 1-year separation or transition to a facility outside the local radius
