Description
American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist for an inpatient rehab setting, requiring 1+ year of experience and PT state licensure.
Details
- Inpatient rehab setting within a Level 2 trauma facility
- Unit includes PT, OT, and Speech disciplines
- Patient volume varies by area: up to 9 per day for outpatient, up to 13 per day for inpatient, and varies for rehab
- Patient population includes ortho, post-surgical, neuro, trauma, cardiac, and medsurg cases; excludes NICU, pediatrics, PICU, ER, and ICU
- Uses Cerner Powerchart for charting
- Supported by 2 rehab aides/OTAs who assist with patient care
- 8-hour day shifts, typically Tuesday-Saturday, though schedule may vary (e.g. Wed-Sun or Thu-Mon) based on need
- May be assigned to outpatient, inpatient, or both areas depending on facility need
- Required to float to other areas as needed within assigned scope
- Weekend requirements vary and will be specified per assignment
- Holiday coverage is not required
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of experience required; candidates with strong inpatient clinical experience may be considered without a full year
- Active PT state license required for the state of submission (license required if applicable)
- Current BLS certification required
- Travel experience preferred
- Trauma experience preferred
- Active, non-pending certifications required for consideration
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include evaluating and treating patients across assigned inpatient, outpatient, or rehab areas
- 1.5 days of department-specific orientation provided, including Cerner training as needed
- Uniform requirements include a maroon polo shirt, dark-colored pants, and closed-toed shoes; lab coat optional
- Facility has 24/7 pharmacy access
- First-time travelers may be considered based on clinical experience
- Candidates must not have been directly employed by any CommonSpirit-associated facility (including CHI and Dignity) within the past year; PRN employment through outside firms is acceptable
- Local candidates may be accepted depending on facility rate structure
- Some states may require candidates to live a minimum distance from the facility to qualify for travel rates
