Description

American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for an Emergency Department position requiring 2+ years of ER experience and ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS certifications.

Details

• Work in a hospital Emergency Department in an acute care setting
• 8-bed ER with an average daily census of 29 patients
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2 generally, potentially up to 1:4
• 12-hour night shifts with every other weekend required
• No floating required
• No on-call requirements unless requested by the traveler
• Uses EPIC for charting and Pyxis for medication management
• ER staffed with NP/PA provider coverage daily from 10am to 8pm

Requirements

• Active WV or compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of ER experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NIHSS, and PALS (AHA)
• BSN not required
• Copy of unexpired driver's license required for consideration
• Any licensing hits must be disclosed at time of consideration

Additional Information

• Holiday coverage required
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible as a traveler
• First-time travelers may be considered
• Facility does not allow former permanent staff to return as travelers
• Travelers who previously worked at any WVU Medicine location must have taken a 2-year break before reapplying
• Travelers are limited to working within WVU for no longer than one year cumulatively before requiring a 2-year break
• Client may cancel up to 2 shifts per 13-week assignment
