Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS certifications with evening shift availability.

Details

• Work in a hospital-based Emergency Room unit within an acute care setting
• 8-bed ER with an average daily census of 29 patients
• Nurse-to-patient ratios typically 1:2, potentially up to 1:4
• Uses Epic EMR system
• Uses Pyxis medication dispensing system
• ER staffed with an NP/PA provider daily from 10am to 8pm
• 12-hour evening shifts scheduled 3p-3a
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage required
• No floating required
• No on-call requirements

Requirements

• Active WV or compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• BSN not required for this position
• Current certifications required: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NIHSS, and PALS (AHA)
• Copy of unexpired driver's license required for consideration

Additional Information

• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible as a traveler
• Local candidates residing within the radius are not eligible for this position
• Returning travelers who previously worked at any WVU Medicine location must have completed a 2-year break before reapplying
• This facility does not allow former permanent staff to return as travelers
• Travelers are limited to a maximum of one cumulative year working within the WVU Medicine system before requiring a 2-year break
