Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Dept RN for a 13-week contract requiring TNCC, ENPC, and NIHSS certifications with no on-call obligations.
Details
- Work in a busy Emergency Department with 48 private rooms, 27 hallway stretchers, 9 fast track beds, and 5 behavioral health beds
- Patient ratios of 1:4 in general ED, 1:5 in behavioral health, and 1:3 in cardiac/trauma cases
- Uses Alaris pumps, Belmont and Level 1 rapid infusers, and Stryker stretchers
- Charts in MEDITECH EMR
- 13-week contract assignment with a 1:00 PM to 1:00 AM shift
- Rotating weekend requirement
- No on-call requirements
- Performs procedures including splinting, EKGs, central monitoring, trauma assists, central lines, airway support, behavioral health de-escalation, Morgan lens, rapid infuser use, and resuscitation
Requirements
- Active TX or compact RN license required
- Minimum 1 year of recent Emergency Department experience required
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, ENPC, TNCC, and NIHSS
- CPI certification required for ER placement
- No certifications may expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start
- MEDITECH experience preferred
- Trauma experience preferred
- Holding inpatient experience preferred
- No gaps in work history equaling 90 days or more within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care across general ED, behavioral health, and cardiac/trauma patient populations
- Collaborate with a care team that includes PCTs, a paramedic, and an LVN on each shift
- Must be a strong multitasker, team player, and self-starter
- Navy blue scrubs required for RNs
- Must follow all established facility policies and guidelines
- Unit has an active Unit-Based Council and Social Committee
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility, as local candidates are not accepted
- First-time travelers may be considered for this role
