Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN - Operating Room for a travel position requiring NJ or compact RN license and the ability to scrub and circulate on robotics, ortho, neuro, and general surgery cases.

• Hospital-based Operating Room setting
• Must be able to scrub and circulate on robotics, ortho, neuro, and general surgery cases
• AM shift schedule with 7a-8p hours
• 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week, 36 hours weekly
• On-call required
• Floating required, including to a nearby sister hospital
• Uses Epic for charting

Requirements

• Active NJ or compact RN license
• Current BLS certification
• Minimum 1 year of OR nursing experience required
• CNOR certification preferred
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred
• Experience with pre-operative and post-operative assessments
• Experience with pre-admission testing evaluation

Additional Information

• Perform comprehensive pre-operative and post-operative patient assessments across all age groups
• Deliver competent perioperative nursing care for surgical patients under various types of anesthesia
• Maintain accurate and complete documentation of the nursing process and patient outcomes
• Support timely completion of Pre Admission Testing (PAT) and evaluate orders for appropriateness
• Provide patient and family education regarding surgical procedures and instructions
• Demonstrate knowledge of emergency equipment and procedures specific to the surgical setting
• Follow National Patient Safety Goals including Universal Protocol and two-patient identifier verification
