Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Labor and Delivery RN for a teaching hospital position requiring 2+ years of recent L&D experience and an NC or compact RN license.
Details
- Work in the Labor and Delivery unit of a teaching hospital with over 300 births per month
- Day shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00 AM-7:30 PM)
- Every other weekend required
- No blocked scheduling; open availability required
- Float between High Risk and L&D units
- Uses Epic EMR
Requirements
- Active NC or Compact RN license required in hand
- Minimum 2 years of recent Labor and Delivery experience required
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP
- AWHONN Beginner, AWHONN Intermediate, and FHM certifications preferred
- Epic charting experience required
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- 1 supervisory reference from within the last year required for consideration
- Flu vaccine required October 31-March 31 with no exemptions
Additional Information
- Provide comprehensive labor and delivery nursing care including assisting with vaginal and high-risk deliveries, circulating for C-sections, and managing postpartum care
- Skilled in fetal monitoring, medication administration (Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, antihypertensives), and newborn care including APGAR scoring and neonatal resuscitation
- Experience with high-risk conditions such as pre-eclampsia, HELLP syndrome, placenta previa, and preterm labor preferred
- Scrubs provided in royal blue
- Orientation held bi-weekly
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
- Local candidates accepted within a 75-mile radius at a reduced rate
- Candidates with previous permanent employment at this health system must disclose this in their employment history and must not have been a permanent employee within the past 6 months
- RTO must be limited to 5-7 days maximum
