Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift teaching hospital position requiring 2+ years of recent L&D experience and NRP certification.

Details

• Work in the Labor and Delivery unit of a teaching hospital with over 300 births per month
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM)
• Every other weekend required
• Open availability required with no blocked scheduling
• Will float between High Risk and Labor & Delivery units
• Bi-weekly orientation schedule
• Epic charting system used

Requirements

• Active NC or Compact RN license required in hand
• Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NRP
• AWHONN Beginner, AWHONN Intermediate, and FHM certifications preferred
• Epic charting experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Experience with high-risk deliveries, C-section circulating, and vaginal delivery assistance
• Experience with fetal monitoring (external and internal) and recognition of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
• One supervisory reference from within the last year required for consideration
• Full SSN and date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive care across antepartum, labor and delivery, and postpartum units
• Assist with high-risk deliveries, vaginal deliveries, and C-section procedures
• Manage patients with conditions such as pre-eclampsia, HELLP syndrome, placenta previa, preterm labor, and multiple gestation
• Provide newborn care including APGAR scoring, neonatal resuscitation, and thermoregulation
• Administer medications including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and antihypertensives
• Support breastfeeding and lactation, and provide postpartum wound and perineal care
• Scrubs provided in Royal Blue
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Local candidates accepted within 75 miles at a reduced pay rate
• Candidates with prior permanent employment at this health system must not have worked there within the past 6 months
• Maximum RTO of 5-7 days must be submitted with candidacy
• Flu vaccine required with no exemptions during flu season (October 31 - March 31)
