Description
American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN for a 24-bed Med-Surg Tele unit requiring 2 years of acute inpatient tele RN experience and an active IN or compact RN license.
Details
- Hospital-based 24-bed Med-Surg Telemetry unit
- Mixed diagnosis patient population
- 6:1 patient ratio
- RN reads telemetry with no titration duties
- Unit supported by a Charge RN, discharge nurse, and weekday pharmacists
- Equipment used includes IV/PCA pumps, wound vac, and glucometer
- Care involves trach, feeding tubes, CPAP, wound vac, and dialysis assessment
- Uses Epic EMR
- Day shift schedule from 6:45am-7:15pm
- Works every other weekend
- 3 shifts per week at 12 hours per shift, totaling 36 hours weekly
Requirements
- Active RN license (IN or compact) currently in hand
- Current certifications: BLS and NIHSS
- Minimum 2 years of acute inpatient telemetry RN experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Nursing Diploma or Associate's Degree (ASN) required
Additional Information
- Responsible for assessing, developing, implementing, and evaluating individualized patient care plans
- Provides patient and family education specific to care, treatment, and discharge needs
- Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams and delegates tasks to licensed and non-licensed staff
- Serves as a mentor/preceptor and promotes teamwork within the unit
- Participates in quality, safety, and process improvement initiatives
- Complies with regulatory standards and organizational practice governance model
