Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cath Lab/EP position requiring 5 years of experience and Trauma Level II hospital experience.
Details
- Work in a hospital Cath Lab performing diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology, interventional radiology, and vascular procedures
- Day shift schedule, Monday through Friday, 5x8-hour shifts (7:00-15:30 or 7:30-16:00)
- Requires three call shifts within a two-week period
- Uses Epic EMR
- Travelers may be expected to float between sister facilities near the contracted facility
Requirements
- Active CA RN license required, must be in hand at submission
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum of 5 years of RN experience required
- Trauma Level II hospital experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Skilled in cardiac cath lab procedures including PCI, TAVR, Impella insertion, IABP placement/removal, cardiac stent placement, and diagnostic/interventional catheterizations
- Experience with electrophysiology procedures such as cardioversion, pacemaker insertion, and LAA closure
- Proficient in vascular access and closure techniques including Perclose and StarClose systems
- Experience administering and monitoring procedural sedation and related medications (antiarrhythmics, vasopressors, thrombolytics, reversal agents)
- Skilled in EKG/ECG interpretation and dysrhythmia management
- Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting required
- Must provide response regarding prior work history with Providence facilities as part of consideration
Additional Information
- Perform circulating and scrubbing duties for cardiac, vascular, and interventional radiology procedures
- Provide procedural sedation monitoring and manage emergency medications during cases
- Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate within a 50-mile radius of the facility
- Former permanent employees may return after a 3-month waiting period, provided they reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
- RTO requests should be submitted upfront during the application process, as post-offer requests may not be accommodated
- Facility does not accept candidates with Nursys or background check hits
- Completion of pre-start and annual training modules is required, averaging 16 hours
