Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Interventional Radiology/Cath Lab position requiring 3-5 years of cardiac telemetry or interventional radiology imaging experience and active BLS/ACLS certification.

Details

• Work in the Advanced Vascular unit of a hospital-based Cath Lab/Interventional Radiology setting
• Monday through Friday day shift, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
• 37.5 hours per week, 7.5 hours per day
• Uses EPIC for electronic charting
• Float as needed to a sister hospital nearby
• No on-call responsibilities

Requirements

• Active NJ or compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of critical care experience required
• 3-5 years of cardiac telemetry monitoring and/or cardiac imaging experience, or 3-5 years of Radiology outpatient/Interventional Radiology imaging experience required
• Strong IV insertion skills required
• Ability to access implanted chest ports required
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
• Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred

Additional Information

• Conduct comprehensive pre-procedural assessments including medical history, renal function, cardiac status, and contraindications to contrast or medications
• Administer and titrate medications per protocol to achieve optimal heart rate control for image quality
• Establish and maintain IV access for contrast administration, including use of power injectors
• Implement evidence-based practices to reduce risk of contrast-related complications such as extravasation and allergic reactions
• Continuously monitor patients before, during, and after procedures, promptly identifying and responding to clinical changes
• Provide patient education and ensure informed consent
• Collaborate with radiologists, technologists, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure efficient workflow
• Respond to emergencies including contrast reactions and acute clinical events following ACLS guidelines
• Document care accurately in the electronic medical record
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain competency in cardiac imaging and contrast safety practices
• Local candidates accepted at a lower rate
