Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN with 2+ years of experience for a night shift position requiring orthopedic or plastics post-surgical skills.

Details

• Medical Surgical unit in a short-term acute care hospital with 26 rooms and 41 beds
• Average daily census of 14 patients
• Patient population includes short-stay orthopedic, urology, and plastics surgery cases, with a majority being joint replacement surgery patients
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 19:00-7:30
• Every-other-weekend requirement
• On-call requirements apply
• Floating required within the med-surg service line to meet facility needs
• Uses Epic for charting
• Facility will accept 13 or 20 week contracts

Requirements

• Active MO or compact RN license required (pending license accepted at submission)
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• BLS certification required
• Epic charting experience required
• Orthopedic or plastics post-surgical skills required (experience in either is acceptable)
• Skills in surgical drains and total joint replacement care preferred

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care to short-stay orthopedic, urology, and plastics surgery patients, with a focus on joint replacement recovery
• Navy scrubs required (top, jacket, and bottom)
• First-time travelers are accepted for this position
• Local candidates within a 75-mile radius are not accepted
• Maximum of 7 days RTO per contract, with no RTO allowed during the first week of the assignment
• Returning permanent employees of BJC or Saint Luke's must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Travelers who have completed an 18-month tenure must take a 3-month break in service before returning
