Description
American Traveler is hiring an Ultrasound Technologist / Sonographer for a maternal fetal medicine outpatient setting requiring 2+ years of high-risk OB experience.
Details
- Outpatient maternal fetal medicine setting focused on high-risk pregnancies
- Average daily census of 50 with 8 exam rooms
- Patient population includes adolescents and adults
- Perinatal scanning for high-risk pregnancies including Level II detailed anatomy scans, early anatomies, growth scans, BPP, dopplers, NT, and TV scans
- Common diagnoses include chronic HTN, GDM, growth restriction, and fetal abnormalities
- Uses GE ultrasound equipment
- Charts in EPIC
- 5x8 hour day shifts, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
- No call, float, or weekend requirements
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of ultrasound/sonography experience required
- Prior travel experience required (candidates with 2+ years of experience but no travel history may still be considered)
- ARDMS OB/GYN certification and BLS required
- License required if applicable
- Required skills: High Risk OB, Obstetrics, Abdominal Aorta, Appendix, 1st-3rd Trimester OB scanning, Amniotic Fluid Index, Fetal Anatomical Survey, Placenta Previa, Neonatal Head and Heart, MCA/UA Dopplers, Viewpoint, and Fetal Echo
- Experience with GE ultrasound equipment required
- EPIC experience required
- Preferred skills include Portables, Liver, Pancreas, Pediatric Abdomen/Pelvis, Spleen, Amniocentesis, Renal/Pelvis imaging (Bladder, Hernia, Ovaries, Prostate, Renal/Bladder, Uterus, Vaginal), and Small Parts imaging (Breast Cyst Aspiration, Breast Ultrasound, Superficial Masses, Testicles/Scrotum, Thyroid)
Additional Information
- Perform detailed Level II anatomy scans and comprehensive high-risk OB imaging for maternal fetal medicine patients
- 40 hours per week may be offered
- Minimum 13-week assignment with potential for longer contracts
- 40-hour weekly orientation, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
- Scrubs not provided; royal blue color required
- Accepts first-time travelers only if they have more than 2 years of relevant experience
- Former Novant/New Hanover PERM, PRN, or EP employees must wait 12 months before applying and disclose employment history
- Current travel or per diem clinicians must choose one assignment type and cannot hold both simultaneously
- Up to 7 days RTO can be auto-approved if it does not fall on a holiday; no RTO permitted during the first week of assignment
- Must work 2 of the 3 major holidays
- Travel pairs allowed if on different units, with own transportation and disclosed at submission
- Local candidates within 50 miles accepted at a lower rate
