Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Labor & Delivery position requiring a TX or compact RN license, 2 years of experience, and prior travel assignment experience.

Details

• Night shift, 3x12 hours (18:00-06:00)
• Labor & Delivery unit with cross-coverage in Antepartum, High Risk Antepartum, LDRP, and Mother/Baby
• Facility performs approximately 100-200 births per month
• Patient ratios: Labor 1:2, Antepartum 1:3, Mother/Baby 1:3
• Epic charting system required

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, and AWHONN Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced
• Epic charting experience required
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include labor and delivery management, assisting with high-risk and vaginal deliveries, and circulating or scrubbing for C-sections
• Provides neonatal care in the delivery room including APGAR scoring, cord sampling, and thermoregulation
• Delivers antepartum and postpartum care including fetal monitoring, medication administration (e.g., Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate), and lactation support
• Performs fetal monitoring including external and internal methods, IUPC placement, and recognition of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
• First-time travelers are not considered for this position
• No travel pairs or groups accepted
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted
• Candidates residing in Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, or Morris counties are not accepted
• Previous staff must wait one year before returning as a traveler
• All requested RTO must be listed at time of submission, with no more than 3 days auto-approved and none during the first week of orientation
