Description

American Traveler is hiring a Step Down/Telemetry RN for a night shift position requiring 2 years of experience and Level I Trauma Center background.

Details

• Step Down unit within a short-term acute care hospital setting
• Level I Trauma Center environment
• Telemetry patient population with average ratios of 1:5-6
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:30 AM)
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating required within scope to meet facility needs
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active CT or compact RN license required prior to start date
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required (1.5 years considered with Level I Trauma or travel experience)
• BLS certification required; NIHSS certification preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Level I Trauma Center experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Epic charting system experience required
• Telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia management skills required
• 1 professional reference required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide telemetry and step down level nursing care including cardiac monitoring, respiratory management, and IV therapy
• Skills utilized may include chest tube management, wound care, insulin drip titration, and central/peripheral line care
• Experience with rapid response and code teams expected
• Scrub color required: royal blue
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
• COVID vaccine and booster required with only religious or medical exemptions accepted
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates not accepted; must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility
• Former staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 2 years to be eligible as a traveler
• Requests for RTO exceeding 7 days require additional approval
