Description
American Traveler is hiring a Step Down/Telemetry RN for a night shift position requiring 2 years of experience and Level I Trauma Center background.
Details
- Step Down unit within a short-term acute care hospital setting
- Level I Trauma Center environment
- Telemetry patient population with average ratios of 1:5-6
- Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:30 AM)
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call responsibilities
- Floating required within scope to meet facility needs
- Epic EMR experience required
Requirements
- Active CT or compact RN license required prior to start date
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required (1.5 years considered with Level I Trauma or travel experience)
- BLS certification required; NIHSS certification preferred
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Level I Trauma Center experience required
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Epic charting system experience required
- Telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia management skills required
- 1 professional reference required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide telemetry and step down level nursing care including cardiac monitoring, respiratory management, and IV therapy
- Skills utilized may include chest tube management, wound care, insulin drip titration, and central/peripheral line care
- Experience with rapid response and code teams expected
- Scrub color required: royal blue
- Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
- COVID vaccine and booster required with only religious or medical exemptions accepted
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates not accepted; must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility
- Former staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 2 years to be eligible as a traveler
- Requests for RTO exceeding 7 days require additional approval
