Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with an active Washington state license in hand for a night shift position at a Level II Trauma Center and teaching hospital.

Details

• Short-term acute care facility that is a Level II Trauma Center and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center
• Teaching hospital setting
• 13-week assignment
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00
• Weekend rotation required every other weekend
• Block scheduling required
• Approximate patient ratio of 1:11
• Position may float between units
• No on-call requirements
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification required
• Washington state license required if applicable, must be in hand at time of submission
• BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Experience with ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, and weaning from mechanical ventilation
• Skilled in interpretation of Arterial Blood Gases (ABGs)
• Experience with airway management including extubation, suctioning, and tracheostomy care
• Experience with medication delivery systems and various respiratory medications
• Emergency Department and pediatric work setting experience preferred
• Trauma and Rapid Response experience preferred

Additional Information

• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate within a 50-mile radius
• Former permanent staff at this health system must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside outside a 50-mile radius
• Must commit to working 3 of the following 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
• All requested time off must be submitted upfront during the application process
• Two supervisory references required, covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years
• Scrub color for this role can be any color
• No parking fee at this facility
• Travelers may be required to float between sister facilities near the contracted location
